Eka Global unveils “green products” ProPak Asia 2022
to capture sustainable packaging and innovation trend
Eka Global showcases “green products” for the first time at ProPak Asia 2022 to capture the rising sustainable packaging and innovation trend worldwide. Eka Global will have a full range of its innovative green products display at booth No. AV31 at the fair scheduled for June 15-18, 2022, Bitec Bangna.
Mr. Chaiwat Nantiruj, Eka Global’s Group CEO, said that the future trend of the global packaging industry depended significantly on the Russia-Ukraine war and the Climate Change, which worsen global food shortage situation. The United Nations recently warned that the number of people affected by hunger and starvation will make a new height. This situation will add on to the current global impact from the COBID-19 pandemic.
Sustainable and longevity packaging that helps extend shelf life as well as packaging that help increase food safety will become more popular and play more important role in consumers’ daily life because they provide solution to people’s changing lifestyle.
“Today, modern consumers care more for the environment. They look for more convenience and at the same time try to produce the least possible impact on the environment. Business operators across all sectors, be it food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or others, need to realize and start to invest more in the packaging that better address modern consumers’ demand. They also have to look far into the future to stay ahead of others. Innovative packaging that are environmentally friendly will increase their sales, business opportunity and competitiveness in the global market,” said Chaiwat.
With such trend in mind, Eka Global has set a goal this year to become an innovative organization with focus on promoting circular economy. The company sees this path critical to achieving sustainable growth and, therefore, pays high attention to do research and development of packaging that have unique and modern design while being environmentally friendly. Following this trend, Eka Global has added “green products” in its business roadmap.
Chaiwat added that Eka Global has recently done research and development of green products in three categories – bioplastic (PLA) made from natural materials like tapioca, corn, and sugarcane, biodegradable packaging made fully from natural materials, and packaging made from PCR. All of such innovative products will be unveiled at the ProPak Asia 2022 held from June 15-18, 2022, at Bitec Bangna. Interested persons can visit Eka Global’s booth and discuss with the company’s expert at booth No. AV31.
In Q2/2022, Eka Global expects its operating performance to grow continuously despite challenges regarding rising production cost and the global economic situation. With cost management efficiency and continuous sales, the company has continuously received new orders from worldwide customers and achieved full production capacity till end of this year.
This is in line with the global demand for sustainable and longevity packaging driven by changing post-pandemic consumer behavior.
“We are confident of achieving growth target of between 30-35%, reaching 1.6-1.7 billion baht. The impressive market response at ThaiFex 2022 has encouraged us to participate in ProPak Asia 2022 where our new “green products” will be launched,” concluded Chaiwat.
