Brainstorming To Overcome Challenges & Create Sustainable Growth
The Association of Siamese Architects Under Royal Patronage (ASA) together with N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. (NEO) has held ASA Building and Construction Forum 2020, entitled “Emerging Challenges, Recovering Industries”, at Samyan Mitrtown Shopping Mall. It has invited experts in economy, trade and investment, design and architecture, and construction from leading companies and organizations to share their opinion and insight about how to cope with challenges and how to build the network between the public and private sectors to create a sustainable development for Thai design and construction industry.
Mr. Chana Sumpalung, President of ASA, says that the COVID-19 pandemic has hit a lot of businesses severely, and they need to figure out how to make their businesses survive. The ‘architect’ is another profession that has to adjust and change the way of working to cope with the current situation.
As an organization that supports Thai architects to grow continuously and sustainably, ASA has held a lot of activities to promote the potential of Thai architects and form a network to help them further develop their businesses. For example, Architect Expo, ASEAN’s largest architectural and building material innovations exhibition, is held every year to show the potential of Thailand’s design and construction that is able to compete internationally.
To enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs in design and construction businesses, ASA joins force with NEO to organize ASA Building and Construction Forum 2020, entitled “Emerging Challenges, Recovering Industries”, at Samyan Mitrtown Hall 1-2 on the 5th Floor at Samyan Mitrtown Shopping Mall. This forum provides a chance to share the insights about the overall economic picture in both businesses and industrial sector and to tighten the partnership between the public and private sectors to recover and promote Thai design and construction businesses in the sustainable way. Besides, this forum will also be a platform to tighten the relationship among the entrepreneurs in the same industry.
Thailand is known as a hub of design and construction industry in ASEAN. A plenty of works done by Thai designers are internationally accepted and demonstrated in overseas. Hence, ASA determines to promote the potential of Thai architects in every possible way and act as a middleperson to connect Thai architects with construction entrepreneurs to grow together.
Dr. Vasu Poshyanandana, chairperson of the Architect ’20 committee, says that this seminar is honored to have speakers, who are economic experts and executives from Thai leading companies in property development, construction, and trade and investment industries, to share their view in the topic of “THAILAND ECONOMIC OUTLOOK 2020-2022”. Speakers comprise Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanawat Polvichai, the advisor to Thai Chamber of Commerce and rector at the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce, who will share about the Thai economy during 2020-2022 as well as the opportunities and the challenges for Thai businesses to attract foreign investment, Mr. Rangsin Kritalug, Chief Operating Officer of BTS Group Holdings Plc., who will share about the investment direction in mass transit system and risk factors in the economic crisis, including the concept of transforming the Old Customs House into a luxury boutique hotel, Mr. Pakpoom Srichamni, President of Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc., who will share his insight of Thai construction industry and talk about how to create competitiveness with construction technology and innovation, Dr. Prinn Panitchpakdi, Deputy Leader & Head of the Economic Team, Democrat Party, who will talk about the direction of Thai capital market and how Thai businesses should do to survive from the crisis, and Mr. Chana Sumpalung, President of ASA, who will share about the changing trend of Thai architecture and design and the competitiveness of Thai architects in the global market.
The seminar has received good responses from those in architecture, property development and construction businesses as well as investors. The organizer team hope that everyone will gain useful information to apply and further develop their business plan, get over the challenges, see the opportunities, and help each other to promote a sustainable development for interior design and construction industry.
