and organizational transformation using AI

Eka Global, a leading producer of longevity packaging, is making product innovation and organizational transformation its top priorities. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), the company aims to boost cost efficiency and enhance its competitiveness in addressing the growing global demand for ready-to-eat food. With the Indian packaging market expected to grow by 30-40%, Eka Global forecasts total sales to reach 1.4 billion baht this year.

Chaiwat Nantiruj, Group CEO of Eka Global, commented that despite an uncertain global economic outlook, the worldwide food market is expected to continue its growth, driven by rising global consumption. This trend is set to positively impact the food packaging market as well.

The rapid advancement of technology, particularly AI, is pushing businesses to innovate in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Eka Global, therefore, is focusing on product and manufacturing innovations and undergoing an organizational transformation to become a fully digitalized company. This strategy will help the company meet global trends, improve cost efficiency, and prepare for future growth.

“Looking ahead to 2025, there are significant opportunities for Thai businesses, particularly in the premium pet food sector, which continues to grow at a strong pace. Thailand is well-positioned in the global food industry, thanks to its abundant raw materials for food production and export. As innovation and technology play an increasingly important role in the food packaging sector, generative AI will be the core technology driving transformation.”

Eka Global expects its sales to reach 1.4 billion baht this year, supported by the full-year income recognition from its new production facility in Pune, India. The company’s positive performance is driven by the strong growth prospects in India, where the market is expected to expand by 30-40%, as well as ongoing expansion at its production facility in Thailand.

“India is a market with enormous potential, driven by its large population and the strong demand for longevity packaging due to the country’s love for sweets,” Chaiwat noted. “We’ve seen our order volume double each year, and today, we have approximately 300-400 SME clients in India, primarily food and confectionery producers.”

Currently, Eka Global operates two production facilities—one in Thailand and one in India—offering a combined annual production capacity of 2.85 billion pieces. Both facilities have already reached 70-80% of their capacity. With demand in India surging, the company expects its Indian facility to reach full capacity within the year.
